What are GearHubs?

GearHubs are customizable and secure vending machines that dispense supplies and tools. By scanning a badge or keying in a code, workers can get exactly what they need, whether it’s a pair of safety glasses they’ll keep or a power tool they’ll return to the GearHub.��

“The beauty of the machine lies in its versatility and ability to vend a wide range of solutions,” said Matt Dunn, of ����mv��ý’s Site Solutions team. “We’ve vended a 15-pound sledgehammer from the machine, so it’s not limited to small items. It is capable of handling virtually anything a fabrication shop or construction site customer may need.”

Depending on your needs, you can supplement the main GearHub carousel vending machines with locker units that have customizable compartments to house even larger items.��

With GearHub, users can be asked to input a job number at the point an item is vended, ensuring those costs are accurately captured and can be applied to a specific BOM. Minimize tool loss: Disappearing tools are often considered the cost of doing business, but they don’t have to be. GearHub documents who rents tools (think small hand drills), and ����mv��ý’s tools are outfitted with Bluetooth tags that allow them to be tracked on the .��

“Customers know they’re losing tools, but they can’t pinpoint where or why,” Mestas said. “GearHub can find the handoff gaps and accountability issues. You can see it in real time without having to do manual audits. Another issue is hoarding tools. Someone on a production line might have a box of tools and they’re not using them but they want them handy if they do need them. So you can make those audits on a daily basis instead of all the sudden your production line is down or construction is down while you try to find a tool.”

Is GearHub right for you?
